The Innovation Division at Commerce embraces a risk-taking culture as we identify, prioritize, develop, and launch new assets to support South Carolina’s business community in their relentless pursuits of transformational ideas. The content developer intern will be a part of our innovation team, assisting with conceptualizing & maintaining the content of the Scribble website, associated social media platforms, blogs as well as offline public relations & marketing communications. Writing copy about innovation, high-scale entrepreneurship, angel/venture investing, applied research, technology commercialization, and economic development are the key themes. Supporting the management of the main customer-facing website, ensuring consistency through-out site with tone of voice, brand and use of imagery. Creation of value-adding, useful, fun, socially shareable content to support the main goals across social media. Assisting in other kinds of content as and when required. Love for grammar, syntax and visual composition. Excellent time management skills, and the ability to work independently, and as part of a team. Work will also have oversight from commerce’s Marketing and Communications division. Great written communication skills; ability to proofread. Video and photography skills are an additional bonus, but not required.

Incorporate SEO and key search terms into the blog content
Help develop editorial voice and content creation across digital platforms
A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
You may be asked to provide a certified transcript if selected for a position requiring a degree. A background investigation will be conducted that may include, but not limited to, criminal records, driver’s license and credit check, drug testing after a contingent offer of employment.
Graduate or Senior Undergraduate students with a degree in Journalism, Communication, and related fields are preferred.
Remote working is an option for the right candidate, though we are looking for someone residing within South Carolina.
