Job Description
The Bioinformatics Analyst will be expected to assist the Bioinformatics Specialist team perform detailed analysis of Next-Generation Sequencing data in both a research and diagnostic setting. Fluency in several programming languages, along with a well-rounded knowledge of genetics/molecular biology, is essential in order to understand and communicate findings/results. Collaboration with additional individuals including Clinical Laboratory Directors is also essential to providing the most informative and concise results. The Bioinformatics Analyst must also be able to adapt their skill set to accommodate for technological advances and a steadily increasing volume of high-throughput data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field is required
- At least 2 years of related experience is preferred
- Fluency in Python, JAVA, R, or C++ is required
- Database experience is preferred
- Understanding of Biology and Genetics is preferred
